“[Instead of the usual, traditional question] ‘What is wrong with this person?', [our] psychotherapy is based on different questions. It asks ‘What is right with this person? What ways of being with themselves and others, and with the world, will lead them to the greatest zest and enthusiasm in their lives? How can we move in that direction?”

Next Workshops

Thursday, April 3 - Wednesday, April 9, 2008

Presented by Ruth Bolletino, Ph.D. and Mary Bobis, LCSW

Sunday, October 19 - Friday, October 24, 2008

Introduced by Larry LeShan, Ph.D.
Presented by Ruth Bolletino, Ph.D. and Stephanie Koraleski, Ph.D.

Although this workshop was originally designed for people with cancer and their families, experience has shown its value and validity for a much wider group.

The research behind it was done chiefly with cancer patients, but we have found that the results also apply to those with other illnesses involving the immune system.

This workshop is now not only for people dealing with life-threatening illness and those close to them. It is also for those simply wanting to improve their health, and to create more richness, zest and meaning in their lives.

At the heart of the program are the methods and philosophy designed by Larry LeShan. Each staff member is an experienced and talented professional who has been extensively trained by him. The work includes:

  • experiential exercises
  • lectures and discussion
  • meditation training
  • individual sessions with staff members

Workshop Times and Schedules

The April workshop will begin on Thursday, April 3, with dinner, and end after breakfast the following Friday, April 9.

The October workshop will begin on Sunday, October 19 with dinner, and end after lunch the following Friday, October 24.

Fee

The total fee is $1875. This fee is for all workshop activities, lodging and meals. It does not include transportation. In circumstances of limited financial resources, scholarships may be available or a payment schedule may be arranged.

Note: We regret that after many years, we have been forced to raise our workshop fee because of Mercy Center’s increased costs for fuel, utilities and maintenance.
